The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is one of the most beautiful trekking adventures in Nepal. This journey takes you through a wide variety of landscapes, from green valleys and traditional villages to high mountain deserts and snowy Himalayan peaks.

Along the way, you will walk through peaceful villages, meet friendly local people, and experience the rich culture of the Gurung and Tibetan-influenced communities. The trail passes through forests, rivers, waterfalls, and open alpine landscapes, offering something new every day.

A major highlight of this trek is Tilicho Lake (4,919 m), one of the highest lakes in the world, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Another unforgettable moment is crossing Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the highest trekking passes on earth, with incredible views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

This trek is a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and culture. It is suitable for trekkers with a good level of fitness who want to experience the real Himalayas in a safe and well-organized way.

Day 1: Kathmandu – Dharapani (1,960 m)


Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu toward the Annapurna region. The road passes through beautiful river valleys, green hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages. You gradually enter the Marsyangdi Valley, where the landscape becomes more dramatic and mountainous. Dharapani is a peaceful village and the official gateway to the Annapurna Circuit.

Day 2: Dharapani – Chame (2,670 m)


Today you start trekking along the Marsyangdi River. The trail goes through dense pine and fir forests, suspension bridges, and small Gurung settlements. You will enjoy the fresh mountain air and your first close views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, offers a beautiful mountain setting.

Day 3: Chame – Upper Pisang (3,300 m)


The trail continues through narrow valleys, rocky cliffs, and peaceful forests. As you climb higher, the scenery becomes more alpine and dramatic. You pass small villages like Bhratang before reaching Upper Pisang, a traditional Tibetan-style village with stunning views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak.

Day 4: Day 4: Upper Pisang – Ngawal (Acclimatization Day)


Today we follow the beautiful upper trail from Upper Pisang to Ngawal, one of the most scenic viewpoints in the Manang Valley. The walk is peaceful and offers stunning views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Pisang Peak, and the wide Himalayan landscape.

After reaching Ngawal, we stop for lunch and rest in this traditional mountain village. In the afternoon, we take a short hike to explore the Guru Rinpoche Cave (around 4,000 m), an important spiritual site with incredible panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

After visiting the cave and enjoying the scenery, we return back to Ngawal village for overnight stay. This is an important acclimatization day to help your body adjust safely to higher altitude while enjoying one of the most beautiful areas of the trek.

Day 5: Ngawal – Manang (3,540 m)


A shorter and easier trekking day brings you to the famous Manang village. Along the way, you enjoy wide valleys, mountain views, and traditional settlements. In the afternoon, you can explore Manang village or take optional hikes to Gangapurna Lake or nearby viewpoints for incredible Himalayan scenery. This is an important rest and acclimatization day.

Day 6: Manang – Tilicho Base Camp (4,140 m)


You leave the main Annapurna Circuit trail and head toward the Tilicho region. The landscape becomes dry, remote, and more dramatic with steep cliffs and alpine terrain. This section offers breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and a true sense of wilderness.

Day 7: Tilicho Base Camp – Tilicho Lake (4,919 m) – Shree Kharka (4,080 m)


Early morning hike to the spectacular Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. The turquoise water surrounded by snowy peaks creates a magical and unforgettable view. After spending time at the lake, you descend carefully to Shree Kharka.

Day 8: Shree Kharka – Leder (4,200 m)


A peaceful trekking day through alpine meadows, yak grazing fields, and rocky landscapes. The trail is less crowded and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. This is a comfortable day before the higher altitude section of the trek.

Day 9: Leder – High Camp (4,800 m)


You gradually climb toward Thorong La High Camp. The vegetation disappears, and the landscape becomes wild, cold, and alpine. The views are wide and powerful, showing the true scale of the Himalayas. This is an important preparation day for the pass crossing.

Day 10: High Camp – Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) – Muktinath (3,760 m)


This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. You start early before sunrise and climb steadily to Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world. At the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking Himalayan views. After celebrating your achievement, you descend steeply to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.
